"The report is based on research carried out by the Institute for Employment Studies (IES). It examines the extent that employers consult their employees on health and safety issues and the impact that consultation has on safety management within their organisation.
Although the report concludes that there is a high degree of health and safety consultation across industry as a whole, it also highlights a number of problem areas concerning employee consultation. In particular, the report found that one in ten employers questioned did not undertake any consultation with their employees on health and safety matters, while only 36 per cent of employees were consulted on a regular basis. ..."
