"Der Intrafirmenhandel deutscher US-Tochterunternehmen macht rund die Hälfte der gesamten US-Importe aus Deutschland aus. Dabei werden die USA von deutschen Firmen in erster Linie als Absatzmarkt genutzt. Ihre Bedeutung als Produktionsstandort innerhalb eines internationalen Vorleistungsnetzwerks hat allerdings auch zugenommen."
