"The article starts with a discussion of recent developments in the Norwegian welfare state. It focuses on the welfare promises of the present centre-left majority government and asks if an ambitious welfare-state policy is possible in an international climate of globalization and a market-oriented economy. It is decisive that social work educators and the profession addresses these questions if the core values of the welfare state are to prevail."
