"The essay examines the policies against labour exploitation of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the European Union (EU). It analyses the main features of such policies, pointing out how they evolved especially in the last decades and at the ILO level. Against this background, particular attention is devoted to the protection of irregular migrant workers and to the most recent approach of the ILO to the matter, which is no more exclusively focused on criminal sanctions, but also on preventive and protective measures."
