"In March 2022, I was privileged to moderate the N.Y.U. Annual Survey of American Law Symposium.1 The Symposium focused on the future of workers' rights and changes in the workplace at the start of the third decade of the 21st century. What emerged from the panel discussions was a portrait of a changing landscape of worker rights rendered from three seemingly separate but interrelated explanations for the changes. One year after the Symposium, this Article explores those explanations further and examines the effects of automation and the gig economy on the current labor market, COVID-19's post-pandemic impact on workers' rights and the workplace, and the role of labor unions today. ..."
