The name would soon become a byword for a business success story before becoming indissociable over half a century later from the biggest health scandal in industrial history. Blinded by the qualities of the “magic fibre”, asbestos cement manufacturers would ignore the build-up of scientific evidence to conceal the product's hazards from their workers. Hundreds of former asbestos workers are now sick. Many others have already died. Asbestos sufferers and deceased's families are trying to break down the wall of silence and standing up to demand justice."
