ETUI documentation centre

Labourline is the on-line catalogue of the documentation centre of the European Trade Union Institute - ETUI, providing access to more than 88,000 bibliographical references and the complete texts (50%) of books, articles, reports, proceedings of colloquia, audiovisual materials, technical standards, etc. related to the world of work. Labourline is updated daily.

The documentation centre, the cornerstone of the ETUI's research activities, offers access to a unique set of documentation resources that expands daily. In its 40 years of existence, the centre has become an important source of information on the European and international trade union movement, economic and social issues, industrial relations, working conditions and health and safety at work.

More than 20,000 publications, including all those published by the ETUI, and around 80 specialised periodicals covering the ETUI's fields of research, can be consulted on site.

The documentation centre is open to the public by appointment. It is used mainly by researchers, academics, trade unionists and students. It provides reading and study areas for its users in a comfortable and attractive environment.

In 1998, the documentation centre was recognised by the European Commission as a European Documentation Centre (EDC) due to the nature of its research activities and its specialised collections.

In 2014, the documentation centre became a member of the Resource and Documentation Centre (RDC) network of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) based in Vilnius. Its catalogue is integrated into this huge common catalogue.

The documentation centre is also a member of the International Association of Labour History Institutions (IALHI).
