"To what extent the NATO action against Yugoslavia would affect the Croatian economy was unknown until the end of April when two ministries, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Transport and Communications, presented some incomplete estimates. There is no doubt that the NATO action against Miloševic and the Republic of Serbia/Federal Republic of Yugoslavia have induced considerable consequences for the economies of the neighbouring countries. We have not managed to get any more precise estimates and analyses of the consequences of the war in Croatia, even in the industry sector associations. However, it is indisputable that NATO's action will have serious consequences for the Croatian economy as well. The influx of foreign currency from tourism and transport services in Croatia will not be realised according to the budgeted figures vital to the balance sheet."
