"This paper provides a comprehensive survey of recent research on codetermination in Germany. Both codetermination at the supervisory board and establishment-level through works councils are considered. The effects of codetermination on productivity, wages, profitability, innovation, environmental investment, employment growth, teamwork, performance-related pay, training, and family friendly practices are discussed. Specific attention is paid to problems of endogeneity and to the role moderating factors."
