"The purpose of this study is to assess the link between the European labour movement and the social policy of the EC. The main body of analysis is not based on how this movement, primarily in the form of the ETUC, seeks to influence the central institutions connected with the making of social policy, but rather on whether the policy decisions of the Community comply with the aims of the ETUC. ln this way the discussion concentrates on the dynamics of the political game that takes place around social policy in the context of the Community. ..."
