"In 2013, mandatory worker representation on French corporate boards was enacted. The study examines the incorporation of employee directors within the board machinery and finds that employee representatives have limited access to board committees, casting doubt on their ability to significantly influence corporate governance. The study also finds no significant impact of codetermination on firm performance."
