The former are particularly exposed when working in buildings that were constructed using asbestos products, and the older the building, the greater the risk. To halt perpetuation of this health scourge, and prevent the risks from being passed on to younger generations, immediate and vigorous steps to tackle asbestos removal must be taken by European and national authorities."
