"This paper examines the structures of employee participation within companies as a means of articulating the voice of workers in environmental matters. To this end, the study presents the regulatory framework of information and consultation rights at European and national level, and then analyses the rules governing the EU environmental auditing and management system, sustainability reporting and due diligence policy, in order to assess synergies and complementarities in relation to employee participation. The results demonstrate complementarities between these standards and the information and consultation rights at EU level, while collective bargaining at internal level plays an important role in ensuring that the participation of employee representation is effective."
