"It may be said that the media in Serbia are the Archimedean point of reliance for any political change. Without the liberation of the media, any attempt at political change seems like an attempt to lift oneself or to leap over one's own shadow. The regime in Serbia has built its position on the iron control primarily of the state electronic media which are the only ones that cover the entire territory of Serbia and have the decisive impact on the formation of public opinion. For years now, Milosevic has been combining the politics of crisis building and ethnic conflicts with a media campaign which has created a psychosis of general national threat; in such a situation, so has been the explicit message of the media, Serbia can only survive if we all give up any and all political bickering and unite under the leadership of the legally elected president, i.e. Milosevic.
The first part of this paper gives a brief history of the Serbian media in the post- communist period, while the second part describes how the media have been used to create support for the regime. "

"The concept of social security – a contemporary, global norm – and the accom panying public expenditures are the products of a search for security against the dangers that may be faced by individuals in society. Social security spending is affected by social changes, including employment policies, labour supply, family and social structures. Countries give greater importance to social security spend ing for the sustainability of economic growth. This study analyses and evaluates the impact of social security spending in Turkey, Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, which are within the scope of European Union enlargement policy, on economic growth in the 1996-2020 period. Panel data analysis was made using the growth rate of gross domestic product per capita, the population growth rate, the corruption index, contribution data on social spending and the Arellano and Bover / Blundell and Bond System Generalized Method of Moments estima tor were taken into account. We conclude that social security spending positively affects economic growth and, in this context, it is in line with the theory put forward by Keynes "

"As in most Eastern European countries, the economic fabric of Serbia is dominated by small and micro-enterprises. Some are not even declared to the authorities. Under those conditions, undeclared employment flourishes. The Government has set labour inspectors the task of remedying this situation. It is not easy to motivate understaffed teams who are paid a pittance and are poorly regarded by the people in general. Yet some of them try to rise to the challenge."

"Comme dans la plupart des pays d'Europe de l'Est, le tissu économique de la Serbie est dominé par les petites et très petites entreprises. Certaines ne sont même pas déclarées aux autorités. Dans ces conditions, le travail au noir prospère. Le gouvernement a donné pour mission aux inspecteurs du travail d'y remédier. Pas évident de motiver des troupes en sous-effectifs, payées au lance-pierre et mal considérées par la population. Certains tentent tout de même de relever le défi."

"This article is focused on the importance of accepting the modern concepts of operations based on knowledge management, and of organisations that learn and which are based on human capital, as the most important resource of today. This leads us to the conclusion that the main and predominant resources of the modern economy, right across the globe, are applied knowledge, education and science. Therefore, the construction of a society based on knowledge becomes a basic imperative of a global economy in which intellectual capital plays a lead role. Following a review of the argumentation behind the learning organisation, the author draws case study evidence on the issues raised from Telekom Srbje, which is on the start of the road to becoming a learning organisation, while arguing that professional, motivated and competent employees are not only an organisation's most valuable assets in the knowledge economy, they are a key source of a competitive advantage which competitors elsewhere will find impossible to replicate."

"The entire, highly conflicting course of the debate on proposed amendments to the law, which have an indisputable strategic importance for economic development, must be understood as a warning to all industrial relations factors concerning those things that have not been carried out in the transition process, and which reforms have not been successful or were not properly and effectively implemented. In this respect, it can be said as regards all three industrial factors that, in the past, they have proven to be poor pupils who have repeatedly failed to learn their lessons, or did not want to learn the lessons that did not support their own limited understanding of their own and also the general public interest. That is why all of them – employers, the state and trade unions – are faced with what pedagogy calls ‘reviewing the lesson'. At the same time, each time they review the lesson, the price is socially and economically more expensive than the last one; in other words, it increases the price of a transition which is already socially and economically unbearable to most workers."
