"Over the past seven years, living-wage campaigns have emerged as one of the most significant signs of a grassroots reawakening around economic justice. Organized labor continues to play a major role in this blossoming movement. This article examines how and why unions have come to organize for the living wage, what distinct resources they bring to the coalition table, the limits of union participation, and the likely paths for the movement's future development."
