"Despite numerous initiatives aimed at preventing work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), their prevalence remains high across the EU. This report summarises the findings of a large-scale project aimed at exploring the reasons for this and identifying shortcomings both at policy level and in implementing effective measures in the workplace.
The project consisted of three strands: an exploratory literature review, an analysis of 142 national policy initiatives and a qualitative research study aimed at identifying how MSDs are tackled in workplaces in practice. By drawing together the findings from these three strands, the report identifies barriers to and success factors for tackling work-related MSDs and makes several recommendations, from policy to workplace level."
