"Describes various dimensions that shape the way the region's women participate in the labour market and how they access and use the different elements of the digital economy. Documents experiences, initiatives and policies aimed at improving women's quality of life through information and communications technologies (ICTs). Looks at the results of three studies which have explored different areas of the digital economy: the electrical and electronics industry, call-centre services and women using ICTs in enterprise. Discusses women's participation in the world of science and knowledge, and examines the trajectories of women devoted to scientific research in the region."
