"The UK has an ageing population, which offers both challenges and opportunities for individuals, businesses and the economy.
Our publication Fuller Working Lives – a framework for action outlined the background evidence around later life working and retirement and set out a number of actions to help people have fuller working lives.
We also published Attitudes of the over 50s to fuller working lives, which reports the results of polling research into individuals' attitudes to fuller working lives.
To build on the polling research with individuals, and on the framework, this research was commissioned to explore the attitudes of employers to retaining, recruiting, and retraining workers aged 50 and over. It explores the policies and practices employers currently have in place to support later life working, and their attitudes around the perceived benefits and challenges of having workers aged 50 or over in their organisation."
