These include the contemporary scientific literature, the views of an expert international scientific panel, current practice, employer and employee representatives and a number of official authorities from member states. The report is not a comprehensive review of all original research sources, but rather utilises authoritative reviews of such sources, where appropriate. Emphasis has been placed on those reviews that were agreed to be acceptable to the expert panel of scientists."
