"This article presents the story of "Salonit Anhovo"--an asbestos-cement factory in Slovenia that led to the banning of asbestos in Slovenia in 1996. Two different perspectives are presented: (i) the story of the company management which realized the risks of using asbestos and proposed its ban in Slovenia; and (ii) the story of the local NGO that first discovered the dangers of asbestos and began a long struggle to protect workers, community and the environment."
