"The increasing shift towards virtual work environments has been accelerated as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, and is projected to continue post-pandemic. Coupled with technological developments supporting the digitalisation of work and workplaces, the situation underlines a need to account for associated trends and challenges.
This discussion paper considers the future of working in a virtual environment. It discusses the importance of contextual issues, projected impacts of the digital transformation, and the implications as well as opportunities of these for occupational safety and health (OSH).
The paper elaborates on key considerations in preventing and managing OSH risks and in policy development. Implications for research and practice are also presented."
