"This study, commissioned by the Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (NIHDI), explores international experience in the setting of national health and health care targets, with a view to drawing conclusions relevant for Belgium in this area. It notably assesses how the topic has been addressed in the scientific and grey literature and explores more in-depth the cases of Austria, Germany, and Sweden, which have a long experience in setting national health(care) targets. The synthesis of the main lessons learned leads to specific policy recommendations."
