"One of the objectives of Europe 2020 is to spread the Internet and create a digital single market. This initiative, called the European digital agenda, bear very important consequences on working conditions but it is seldomly mentioned in EU policies. Aim of the essay is, on one hand, to highlight the importance of human work in the data economy, on the other hand, to draw some lines of research useful for studying the consequences for work and its rules, among which we can name the transformation of work into data (datafication) and the influence that digital technologies are exerting on the worker and his self-determination."
