"The essay focuses on the current repercussions of the 2012 blockage of the ILO's supervisory system. The author shows that the international labour standards produced by the Organization are still being (and most likely will be) used as interpretive tools in other legal systems. How¬ever, the crisis of 2012 reveals that the ILO is not equipped to meet the challenges of work in this phase of decline of the globalized economy. In conclusion, he takes the view that a reform of the tripartite structure of the Organization would be necessary, but he argues that the political conditions for such reform are not present."
