"Digitalisation of the economy has changed the nature of work through teleworking, platform work and mobile work based on information and communications technology (ICT). When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, more and more Europeans started working from home as social distancing measures were put in place.
This article reviews the impact that digitalisation is having on Europe's workforce and looks at its effect on psychosocial risk factors (e.g. job strain, workload, work-life balance) and physical risk factors (e.g. repetitive tasks, posture) for work-related musculoskeletal disorders. It also discusses the prevention of such disorders and the promotion of occupational health and well-being."
