"The main objective of this article was to examine the European UnionPosting of Workers Directive as an instrument for the internal labourmarket to achieve social cohesion. A posted worker is an employee thatthe employer has sent to a territory of a Member State (other than theState where he/she normally works) to perform his/her tasks during a givenperiod. The latest revision (PWD 2018/957) has allowed the introductionof amendments to the posting of workers legislation, which improved theprevious law and reinforced the legal protection of posted workers. Itsobjective is to reinforce the posting of workers' policy to eradicate someprejudicious practices detected in applying the previous Directive, such asinequitable work conditions and unfair competition, which are obstaclesto social cohesion. This paper analyses the Directive as a key instrumentfor social cohesion in light of the modifications introduced to improve theDirective (PWD 2018/957). Proposals for improvement of the Directivefor social cohesion are formulated in terms of cooperation, availabilityof information, and inspectorate, which still require more attention andreformulation for better labour mobility of posting of workers in theEuropean Union. Some key practical implications are discussed."
