"Building on events in Flanders (Belgium) during the current pandemic, this paper discusses interplays between Circular Economy (CE) principles and COVID-19 related issues in the healthcare sector and in public health in general. The aim of this paper is threefold. First, it investigates how CE can serve as a constructive change driver in the healthcare sector to increase the sector's sustainability. Second, this paper describes how CE could increase the healthcare sector's future resilience as the COVID-19 crisis has put global value chains of medical devices and equipment under extreme stress"
