"The effect of the war in Ukraine on OECD countries, and beyond, will be profound. The humanitarian cost is already extremely high: millions of people are fleeing the war zone.

This Interim Report focuses on the potential economic and social consequences of the war. The war is expected to slow the global recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and further push up inflation worldwide."

European Journal of Industrial Relations - vol. 23 n° 1 -

"This article compares industrial relations in production sites in Slovakia and Russia owned by a single transnational automotive firm, Volkswagen. We analyse the empirical data using a working-class power approach. In Slovakia, associational and institutional power is well developed and influenced by the model of German work councils, but structural power is weakly exercised and unions rely on non-conflictual engagement with management. In Russia, structural working-class power remains strong, but the opportunities for transforming this into lasting associational, let alone institutional power, remain limited; thus, new unions make use of unconventional methods of protest to promote worker interests."

"This volume deals with the construction of categorizations of health at work on the basis of individuals' perceptions and analyses of the psychosocial health effects at their work. The volume approaches the subject from the point of view of those who have experienced psychosocial risks at work, either by being under constraints themselves or by being witness to such constraints. Each chapter sheds light on their representations by examining how the individuals label these constraints. The book compares official categorizations of psychosocial health effects of work to unofficial categorizations, built or expressed. It shows how taking into account subjective narratives may reinforce existing strategies. By giving a central place to language in the analysis of the representations of psychosocial health at work, the volume provides additional information about the various prevention and coping strategies that can be used for dealing with the issue. Beyond some international comparisons, the book covers various national case studies, including in Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Chechnya, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, and Russia."

"Over the years, regional and local labour market observatories have provided reliable and targeted labour market information and intelligence for regional and local decision-makers. Recent developments show that they are increasingly expected to fulfil tasks beyond mere data provision and analysis. Hence, they are emerging as interpreters, evaluators and mediators in regional and local governance and development efforts. Their participation in the planning, implementation and evaluation processes creates spaces for new alliances, cooperations and networks. However, the observatories often lack essential resources for fulfilling their complex new tasks. Stable sources of financing and employees with a solid and up-to-date skills base are essential for regional and local observatories to meet the new requirements. However, acknowledging their contribution to regional and local governance and development processes as well as adequate opportunities for exchange with different actors across Europe are equally important. How do the changing framework conditions affect the functions of regional and local labour market observatories? To what extent do shifts in their roles take place? Which patterns of changes can be observed across different European countries? How stable are the new arrangements and where do the observatories need support? This publication explores the shifts in the roles and functions of regional and local labour market observatories in different European countries as well as the framework conditions influencing their operating and further development. "

"In the past years, sustainability has again become a theme in both academic and political discourses. Even though they often focus on green(ing) jobs and skills as recently emerged policy fields, also the different aspects of sustainable employment are increasingly receiving attention. As the labour market observatories face the challenge of capturing the developments on the regional and local labour markets in regard to green jobs/skills and sustainable employment, the EN RLMM anthology seeks to clarify different conceptual and methodological issues with the aim to advance regional and local labour market monitoring efforts in this field. The publication focuses on monitoring approaches concerned with jobs and skills in the green(ing) sectors and sustainable employment on the level of European regions and localities. It is explored, how the above mentioned issues can be integrated in the continuously conducted regional and local labour market monitoring and how different stakeholders on the regional and local level can use the generated labour market data for their steering and strategy development activities."

European Labour Law Journal - vol. 7 n° 1 -

"The paper aims to analyse the impact of precarious employment in Italy and Russia. Although these two countries differ significantly in a number of respects such as size, economic structure, political and legal systems and culture, there are some similarities which make a comparison possible. Both belong to the continental legal system, both are characterised by formally rigid labour legislation, a large informal sector of the economy, profound regional differences, and a weakened role of trade unions. In recent decades both countries have undertaken a set of reforms in a neoliberal spirit leading to the proliferation of precarious employment. The paper aims to provide a comparison between Italy and Russia from the point of view of the impact of atypical employment on their legal and economic systems, with a particular focus on the different perceptions of atypical work, precariousness and employment security and different regulatory approaches as well as different legal and non-legal mechanisms to adapt to changes perceived as negative shocks. Another question the paper addresses is whether and to what extent flexible work can serve as a stepping stone to permanent high quality employment in these countries. However, considering the ongoing character of the reforms, the impact of many of the legal measures discussed in the paper is still unclear."
