"Work insecurity characterizes the era of globalization. The hazards arising from work exist at all times and in every part of world. Whereas International Labour Organization (ILO) standards and domestic statutory mechanisms have contributed to the reduction of many risks and dangers, a countertrend toward market conditions has multiplied and increased them in number. As this is a growing problem, some countries are making efforts to solve it in different ways. One of the strategies agreed upon at a European level is to strengthen the principles of labour law by means of protection offered by international human rights legislation. Thus, the European Social Charter has been enacted. There is no other comparable system in any other region. This paper aims to examine how useful the Social Charter is in reality."

"Ce rapport envisage comment se prévaloir des modifications apportées dans les domaines de l'éducation et de la formation pour faire face à l'évolution constatée dans les maladies liées à la profession. Il met l'accent sur la nécessité d'adapter les pratiques suivies en médecine du travail aux conditions créées par le développement dynamique de l'industrialisation dans le monde entier. L'ouvrage commence par un examen des facteurs qui ont modifié le type de maladies frappant les travailleurs et qui sont importantes pour la médecine du travail. Il s'agit aussi bien des risques nouveaux consécutifs à l'industrialisation dans les pays en développement, que du problème des maladies multifactorielles, surtout lorsque l'exposition à la pollution de l'environnement s'ajoute aux effets de l'exposition au lieu de travail. Les sections les plus importantes du rapport portent sur les objectifs de la formation pour les étudiants en médecine, les infirmières spécialisées en médecine du travail, les hygiénistes du travail, les agents de soins de santé primaires, et les chercheurs et enseignants en médecine du travail. "Objectives:
Occupational and environmental medicine (OEM) departments in healthcare institutions can be quickly overwhelmed when COVID-19 infection rates rapidly and simultaneously increase in the workforce and the patients served. Our goal is to present a detailed toolkit of practical approaches for use by front-line OEM specialists to address workforce management tasks during pandemic surges.
Methods:
Specific focus is on tasks related to employee symptom triage, exposure risk assessment, workplace contact tracing, and work restrictions.
Results:
Tools include strategies used by customer call centers, two decision support algorithms (exposure due to cohabitation or non-cohabitation), a color-coded employee case tracking tool, a contact tracing protocol, and documentation templates that serve as memory aids for encounters.
Conclusions:
These tools are created with commonly used software. Implementation is feasible in most front-line OEM settings, including those with limited resources."

Emphasis is placed on the need to adapt practices in occupational health to conditions created by the dynamic development of industrialization throughout the world.
