"Contributions to the History of Occupational and Environmental Prevention not only contains most of the presentations from the First International Conference but also includes invited papers of high scientific relevance to enrich and complete the content of this book.
Both this publication and the conference are major outcomes of a joint collaboration between Clinica del Lavoro of the Milan University and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Prevention (ISPESL) of Rome that implemented the International Network for the History of Occupational and Environmental Prevention (INHOEP), including the most active monodisciplinary segment of occupational health: that is the Scientific Committee of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH).
This book is subdivided into seven chapters giving a rich insight into the history of occupational and environmental prevention: 1. Occupational and environmental health prevention; 2. Historical perspective of policy, ethics and regulation in occupational and environmental prevention; 3. Designing environment for health; 4. Historical perspectives of occupational and environmental hazard prevention; 5. Impact of human diversity on prevention; 6. Institutions and movements for prevention: origin and development; 7. Historical sources and archives."
