User trials of the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire encompassed the views of the following groups: data entry clerks, technical staff, administrative clerks and supermarket staff. A significant number of improvements were identified, especially concerning the wording, layout and administration of the questionnaire. This has led to a standardised version being produced for use in studying the prevalence of reported symptoms in many types of occupational groups. Results demonstrate the value in gaining experience of a questionnaire prior to its use in any major survey.
